Seasonal Residential Coordinator Department: School Reports to: Housing Manager
Pay: $29,250 (39 weeks) inclusive of housing (studio dorm room)
Miami City Ballet School is looking for an experienced, energetic, and mature professional to support Miami City Ballet School’s Housing Manager during the 26/27 school year. This integral role provides services to students aged 12-20 at Collins Pointe, the Miami City Ballet School Residence Hall. Reporting directly to the Housing Manager, the Seasonal
Residential Coordinator (SRC) is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt, seasonal, live-in
position at Collins Pointe (224 23 St. Miami Beach, FL 33139). The Residential Coordinator is allowed two days off each week with flexibility in discussion with Housing Manager and as schedule dictates.
The SRC’s primary responsibility is to supervise and enhance the residential living
environment of our students during the school year. This role will work in tandem with the Housing Manager to oversee the students living at Collins Pointe, implementing processes and procedures that ensure a healthy, safe, and thriving environment for students.
The SRC must be physically present at Collins Pointe on working days. When not scheduled for working hours, the SRC may be contacted if the Housing Manager is
unavailable. If called to work during time off, the SRC will be compensated for time and a half.
This individual must be available to cover the Housing Manager's responsibilities during any vacation taken while students are on the property. The SRC will not work on dates when students are not present on the property.
Students should be informed when the SRC will be off the premises and given contact information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Communicate daily with the Housing Manager regarding student absences, illnesses, medical issues, medical appointments, behavioral problems, and other pertinent information.
2. Communicate frequently with The Anamar property managers and staff regarding maintenance issues or other property concerns.
3. Ensure housing policies and procedures are always followed.
4. Ensure that students follow a schedule and maintain punctuality.
5. Accompany ill or injured students to Urgent Care or medical appointments.
6. Maintain contact and medical information for each student.
7. Manage meal orders and distribution and ensure cleanliness at MCBS Residence Hall.
8. Maintain inventory of shared items in Collins Pointe.
9. Support smooth and efficient procedures at MCBS organization as needed: taking attendance, potential social media, assisting backstage during performances and supporting office duties. Assist with monitoring check-in and check-out procedures.
10. Actively and enthusiastically participate in activities and community meetings.
Requirements
Qualifications: 1. At least 23 years of age.
2. Prior experience as resident advisor/director or chaperone preferred.
3. Professional educational (K-12 system) and/or professional mental health experience are given priority.
3. A nurturing demeanor with the ability to exercise authority and discipline when necessary.
4. Experience in supervising youth, preferably high school-aged students.
5. Strong interest and commitment in Student Affairs and Residential Housing.
6. Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.
7. Familiarity with social-emotional learning and community building
8. Cultural sensitivity and ability to build relationships and support a diverse student body.
9. Team player who excels at building trusting relationships with students and co-workers.
10. Organized and detail oriented.
11. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish or Portuguese a plus.
